Description
This hand painted (not a print) original art is 11” x 14 ½” acrylic on paper. It is a preliminary painting on paper for a larger piece of work. The painting is rough, unrefined and done in an expressive, painterly style. This means the painting is not painted in flat, solid fields of color but shows expressive brush strokes. Because of the technique you can see some of the drawing before it is painted – giving an interesting history of creation of the piece. Also the image is painted on a map and some of the maps text shows through and around the paint. The map paper is torn from an old Oxford Atlas of the World. The paper is high quality with a slight sheen. One side has rough edges and tears from where it was torn from the atlas. (see photo above) This gives the original art a casual appearance to the work. Although the painting comes unframed you can get a frame for it at a local mass merchant department store or art store. The painting will fit in a standard 11” x 14” frame with a slight trim. The painting will ship in a cardboard US Priority Mail mailing envelope and comes fully insured included in the price of shipping of $7.00 The text reads: “What happened to me? Where am I? Whose voices are those?”
