Description
Dogs of similar size and purpose to the modern Beagle can be traced in Ancient Greece back to around the 5th century BC. Reverend Phillip Honeywood established a Beagle pack in Essex. England in the 1830s and it is believed that this pack formed the basis for the modern Beagle breed. So it seems more interesting if I painted the Beagle Hound on a map of. The dog is covering part of Greece but you can see the island of Mikonos and the Sea of Crete. This hand painted (not a print) original art painting of the Beagle Hound is 11” x 14 ½” acrylic on a map page of Greece. The paper is torn from an old Oxford Atlas of the World. The paper is high quality with a slight sheen. One side has rough edges from where it was torn from the atlas.(see photo) This gives the original art a casual appearance to the work. Although the painting comes unframed you can get a frame for it at a local mass merchant department store or art store. The painting will fit in a standard 11” x 14” frame with a slight trim. The painting will ship in a cardboard US Priority Mail mailing envelope and comes fully insured included in the price of shipping of $7.00.
