Chris Manak grew up in San Jose and sought an escape from suburban life. He took on the name Peanut Butter Wolf in the late 80's when him and his friend, Charizma began recording in 1989 as teenagers. They performed live with acts such as House of Pain, Nas, and the Pharcyde. In December of 1993 Charizma tragically lost his life. In 1996 Peanut Butter Wolf founded Stones Throw Records. He is currently moving away from producing in order to build the Stones Throw label.
