Welcome to Cleobella!
It was a couple years ago when my husband and I left our lives in Southern California to travel around the world, with nothing but a suitcase and a surfboard bag. (He’s the surfer, not me) and it was all the elements of the foreign cultures, people we encountered and my love of fashion that interested me most in starting my own business.The ultimate goal was, if I could create a business that would fit this lifestyle of traveling and always experiencing something new, I would feel fulfilled. Cleobella is named after my mother CleobellE who has always been a tremendous inspiration in my life
Most of all I am motivated by the women I have experienced through South East Asia. I really do feel a connection to them…It is the faithfulness to their religion and the ceremonial attire that they wear to respect it. And the femininity they exude while doing the most difficult jobs, regardless of their economic or social status, they adorn themselves with vibrant drapery and accessories. …I am also a “swap meet junkie,” I love spending days in open air European markets, hoping to stumble across that perfect scarf that is the story for my next collection. One of my favorite design styles is to take something old and make it new.
